ABOUT THE SCHOOL:

We educate confident, responsible and engaged learners from pre-school through to high school. Our students take the Cambridge International Exams, IGCSE and the AS/A Level Exams.

THE POSITION:

The school seeks to recruit a dynamic and qualified teacher with demonstrated commitment to excellence and child-centered practices to teach ICT at the Prep School.

The ICT Teacher will provide a balanced curriculum and maintain progress of all class members at a pace suitable to their age and development and use appropriate skills and techniques of differentiation. He/She shall continuously review the ICT curriculum to make it relevant to both students and teachers.

PRIMARY ROLE:

  • Planning and preparing well-structured, clearly presented lessons based on the syllabus being taught and appropriate to the abilities of all students.
  • Making sure that the classroom is a stimulating environment that facilitates learning
  • Using a variety of delivery methods which will stimulate learning appropriate to student needs and demands of the syllabus.
  • Assessing, recording and reporting on the attendance, progress, development and attainment of students and to keep such records as are required.
  • Collaborating with fellow teachers and learning from their methods, teaching strategies, and classroom management techniques.
  • Using digital technology to improve learning and keep accurate student records
  • Providing extra support to struggling students and additional resources to those who display exceptional interest in ICT.
  • Grading exams, tests, assignments, and presentations, and contacting parents and other faculty members to discuss concerns and schedule interventions.
  • Ensuring effective use of ICT including the development of and implementation of subject specific schemes of work.
  • Providing high-quality, accurate, constructive and targeted information to parents in subject reports.
  • Maintaining discipline so that the learning objectives of the class and the provisions of the School’s Health and Safety policy are met.
  • Promoting high standards of behaviour by encouraging a positive, proactive approach to study and build productive relationships with students.
  • Liaising with the Head of Department and Learning Support Coordinator where a student may have special educational needs and with the form tutor and Head of Boarding if a student is experiencing pastoral difficulties
  • Any other duties reasonably requested by the school.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

 Minimum Requirement:

 The applicants must:

  • Be fully qualified as an ICT teacher, with a Degree in Education or post-graduate qualification in Education.
  • Have at least 3 years post qualification teaching experience as an ICT Teacher.
  • Demonstrate use of technology in instructional delivery.

 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 The applicant must:

  • Be a motivated individual with a keen interest in encouraging and inspiring students to love learning and excel in the ICT class.
  • Have a solid and demonstrable teaching experience.
  • Be able to use effectively a variety of teaching and learning styles to enhance teaching, including a wide range of ICT resources.
  • Have evidence of high achievement in teaching across the age range.
  • Able to demonstrate knowledge and experience to carry out the responsibilities of an ICT teacher in relation to planning, delivering and assessing the Curriculum across the primary phase.

Be able to demonstrate:

  • An innovative and creative approach to providing an outstanding education in ICT.
  • The ability to inspire, challenge, support and empower students and colleagues towards excellence
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to establish good working relationships across the school community.
  • Excellent communication in English (written and spoken) and presentation skills
  • The ability to respond positively and proactively.
