Job Description

 

Job Summary
We are on the lookout for an experienced Construction Project Manager to form a team and lead construction building projects from start to finish. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successful project delivery, exceptional skills, and a deep understanding of the construction industry.

Responsibilities

  • The ideal candidate should be experienced in developing project plans, budgets, schedules, and ensure project goals are met within established time, quality, and budget constraints.
  • Work with relevant team members to choose subcontractors and delegate their responsibilities
  • Manage relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure all parties are aligned with project goals and expectations.
  • Work closely with architects, engineers and other workers on each project to establish the requirements for the construction
  • Establish risk factors, then manage and mitigate them to ensure the construction goes to plan
  • Oversee all aspects of construction projects, including site preparation, materials procurement, and trades supervision.
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with industry standards, building regulations, and project specifications.
  • Liaise with local authorities to obtain licenses and permits for the project.
  • Act as the main point of contact for all parties involved in the project and ensure effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Perform daily quality control checks to ensure the building and its finishes are up to or above par
  • Responsible for any delays, emergencies and problems that arise
  • Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports on the project for stakeholder presentation.
  • Report project progress and budget to client twice weekly via Zoom
  • Explain architectural drawings and technical matter to relevant teams and stakeholders in a clear manner
  • Lead project close-out activities, including commissioning, final inspection, and handover to the client

 

Required Skills or Experience

 

Educational Qualification

  • Minimum of HND or equivalent in Building Technology, Construction or a related field.
  • Professional qualification in Project Management (e.g. PRINCE ll), or Construction will be an added advantage

Requirements

  • Must have a minimum of three (3) plus years of experience in construction project management, with a proven track record of delivering successful projects with references
  • Strong knowledge of construction industry standards, building regulations, and project management best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, decision-making and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and methodology
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build a positive relationships with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, prioritise tasks effectively, and work under tight deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail for conducting site inspections and managing complex projects
  • Ability to delegate tasks to workers, subcontractors and other lower-level managers
  • Technical skills to interpret construction methods, contracts and drawings of the project
  • Sound commercial awareness – to allocate and manage your budget effectively and to understand client concern

Desired but not essential

  • Knowledge of the best HR practices
  • Ability to speak Ga-Adangbe and Ewe languages
