Role Purpose

The purpose of the Superintendent Economic Development and livelihood restoration role is to engage a person to focus on leading the development and execution of sustainable economic development programmes in line with existing Socio-economic Development Plans and Resettlement action plans(RAP) of the Mine and underpinned by the Sustainable Development Goals; Environment, Economic, Social, and Governance (EESG) criteria and National and Local Development Plans to contribute to diversifying the economy of communities through building capacities and strong partnerships with the objective of ensuring that host communities are resilient and self-sustaining.

Role Accountabilities

  • Design, implement, monitor, and evaluate needs driven and impactful enterprise development programmes in partnership with relevant institutions
  • Design, implement, monitor, and evaluate needs driven and impactful Agriculture development programmes in partnership with relevant institutions
  • Design, implement, monitor, and evaluate needs driven and impactful Livelihood restoration programmes in partnership with relevant institutions
  • Build and sustain a team with the capacity of producing required outputs and work behaviours consistent with company values.
  • Plan and deploy financial resources assigned within the approved frameworks to ensure delivery of all strategic initiatives within budget and agreed time frame
  • Build sustainable partnerships in the implementation of projects to ensure sustainability of projects

Person’s Specification

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Economics, or a related field from a reputable institution

Experience

  • 5 years’ experience in similar line of work, preferably in mining environment

Other Competencies

  • Hands on experience in monitoring and evaluation of development programmes
  • Experience in participatory methodologies and their application.
  • Understanding of shared value-driven community investment.
  • Knowledge of the development planning processes of the MMDAs
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing, communication and motivation skills
  • Ability to work with teams including people with diverse culture and values
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Must be able to drive Light Vehicles with a valid Ghanaian Driving License
