The Embassy of the United States of America in Accra is the diplomatic mission of the United States in Ghana. It is the focal point for events relating to the United States held in Ghana.
Duties
The Telephone Operator/Receptionist performs all duties associated with the switchboard operations to include working as a receptionist. He/She works under the supervision of the Switchboard Supervisor. Provides all switchboard services within ICASS standards.
Works under the direct supervision of the telephone operator supervisor. Incumbent is one of two telephone operator/receptionist. Employee must be able to work accurately and independently in a timely manner as directed.

Requirements:
EXPERIENCE:
Two years of telephone operator experience which includes one year experience working with a large organization or a governmental agency
JOB KNOWLEDGE:
Must be able to use Microsoft suites
Education Requirements:
Completion of Secondary School or equivalent such as High School certificate, National Vocational Training Institute (N.V.T.I) certificate or a technical school diploma is required.
Evaluations:
LANGUAGE: Good working knowledge of English (Reading, speaking & writing) is required. Good working knowledge of Twi & Ga is required. (Language proficiency may be tested).
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Must have excellent communication skills and be able to prioritize and work under pressure.
- Must be conversant in the use of Microsoft Office Applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams.
- Must be able to type at least 25 wpm.
