The Embassy of the United States of America in Accra is the diplomatic mission of the United States in Ghana. It is the focal point for events relating to the United States held in Ghana.

 

Duties

The incumbent ensures accountability for all non-expendable assets managed by the General Services Office (GSO) Property section.  S/he is responsible for maintaining records to account for these assets and s/he is responsible for all aspects of the disposal of excess and overaged property.  The incumbent ensures that the data in Integrated Logistics Management System – Asset Management (ILMS-AM) and the Loanable Property module are accurate, and s/he uses these data to make data-driven decisions regarding the acquisition and disposal of non-expendable property.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE:

  1. A minimum of two (2) years of secretarial or administrative experience is required.
  2. Must hold a valid “Class B” driver’s license and have had the license for at least five years.

JOB KNOWLEDGE:

  1. Must be skilled in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel as well as have basic operation of the Internet.
  2. Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks.

Education Requirements:

Completion of post-secondary school is required.

Evaluations:

LANGUAGE:  Level III – working knowledge (written/spoken, and at least one (1) of the Ghanaian local languages is required

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Proficient computer skills in basic software programs such as Word, Excel, and other Microsoft applications.
  • Basic keyboarding skills for the purpose of official communications such as drafting memos and status reports is required. Must be able to judge situations quickly and correctly to protect and account for U.S. Government assets.
