- Job Location: Tamale
- Job Type: Short Term Consultancy
Description
USAID Advancing Nutrition is USAID’s flagship multi-sectoral nutrition project, led by JSI Research & Training Institute, Inc. (JSI), and a diverse group of experienced partners. The project’s multi-sectoral approach draws together global nutrition experience to design, implement and evaluate programs that address the root causes of malnutrition. In Ghana, the project provides technical support to advance the Government of Ghana’s efforts to improve district planning for equitable delivery of services that promote household resilience and early childhood growth and development. It is implemented in 17 districts in four regions – Northern, Upper East, Upper West, and North East regions.
Since June 2020, we have been working with government ministries, departments and agencies and other partners to improve multi-sectoral nutrition planning, coordination, and financing, especially at the district level. We have also been working with them to improve the quality of nutrition services, whilst ensuring that many more people, especially pregnant women, lactating mothers, and children under age five get to benefit from these essential services. In 2023, the project will work to strengthen the capacity of the 17 districts to reduce anemia burden among pregnant women and children under 5 years.
