The Embassy of the United States of America in Accra is the diplomatic mission of the United States in Ghana. It is the focal point for events relating to the United States held in Ghana.

 

Duties

  • The incumbent provides a broad range of assistance to Human Resources Officer (HRO) and serves as back up when HRO is away from post.
  • Tracks and coordinates all the Foreign Service Employee Evaluation and Family Member Evaluation Reports for the Embassy.
  • Manages the Family Member Program including the Overseas Seasonal Hire Programs. Coordinates security clearances for Family Members using eQIP. Maintains Post Profile and provides adhoc reports to management upon request.
  • Answers HR related questions from employees and managers.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE:

  •  Three (3) years of administrative/clerical experience is required, to include one year in human resources.

Education Requirements:

  • 2 years of college

  • LANGUAGE:  Fluent written and spoken English is required. This may be tested.

  • Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in Accra, Ghana may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.
  • For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.
  • The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.

  • The certification letter should be on letterhead of the appropriate military branch of the service and contain (1) the military service dates including the expected discharge or release date; and (2) the character of service.
  • Acceptable documentation must be submitted in order for the preference to be given.
  • This level of preference applies to all Foreign Service employees on LWOP and CS with re-employment rights back to their agency or bureau.
