Job Description

ARB Apex Bank is looking for Banking Consultant for immediate employment. The ARB Apex Bank’s Agency Banking Project seeks to design and implement an effective distribution channel for financial services by utilizing a shared agency banking network. The project will also seek to support the existing network of RCBs branches to provide banking services to a larger customer base at lower costs and maximum profitably. The main objective of the agent network is to provide multiple products and payment facilities through a single agent network interconnected to the RCBs network, in order to better reach under-served/under-banked segment of the population, as well as to promote a cashlite culture.

Responsibilities

• Review, validate, and enhance outputs to be delivered by the consulting firm, including the agency banking landscape in Ghana and proposed location of agents and the business case and strategy for the proposed agency banking solution;
• Advise on key strategic decisions regarding the agency banking solution;
• Provide input to the agency banking project implementation plan (product strategy and integration, agent management, training, management reporting, marketing, etc);
• Spearhead the implementation of the required management structure to execute the strategy for agency banking, including how to manage an agent network;
• Develop internal procedures and manuals for the implementation of the agency banking;
  Training of ARB Apex Bank/RCBs staff and agents;
• Coordinate the implementation and successful piloting and rollout of the agency banking solution;
• Perform any other project-related activities as request by the agency banking Project Director.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Degree in business, IT, or related discipline;
• 5 years of experience in digital financial technology services;
• Knowledge of switching and mobile technologies;
• Track record of successful design and implementation of agency banking projects;
• Expertise in modeling, developing projections and roll-out strategies in the financial sector;
• Demonstrated capacity to operate as part of a cross-functional team of experts and to manage relationships with multiple stakeholders;
• Country experience in Africa and other in developing countries.
