About Us

Background of Organization
The Institute of Public Policy Initiatives (IPPI) is an independent non-profit leading policy institute
engaged in cutting-edge research, advocacy, alternative policy analysis, capacity building,
organizational and professional development based in Ghana. It was incorporated under the
companies Act, 1963 (Act 179) to provide a platform for policy dialogue and to analyze
development issues and formulate innovative policy solution in addressing development
challenges through the contribution of the process of public policy development and management,
public sector reforms and also enhance development communication for national development.
Policy analysis is specifically geared towards the challenges faced by emerging economies in
Africa. Our policy tracker analyses the progress of major government legislations, policies,
programmes and projects in these countries. Our world-class insights helping to inform and shape
public policy on the economy and other policies, public finance and executive administration,
parliament and constitution, data, digital and media.

Vision Statement
The institute aims to influence improvement in the efficient and effective delivery of government
institutions, non-government organizations and the private sector on their mandate.

Mission Statement
Our mission is to improve governance, transparency and accountability through policy research,
policy advocacy & dialogue, policy initiatives, policy implementation, monitoring and evaluation
through partnership with policymakers and other stakeholders at the sub-national, national and
international levels engaged in the policymaking process to provide an independent and
nonpartisan analysis to provide insights and shape policy to improve development outcomes and
impact.

Objectives
1. To conduct policy research and evaluation of policy interventions as a means to engage
with people to better understand their concerns and aspirations as a means of evidencebased policy making.
2. To analyze national development issues and to formulates innovative policy solution.
3. To bring the academia, government and industry together to exchange ideas and develop
common policy initiatives for poverty reduction and livelihood empowerment.
4. To provide capacity building training support to government institutions and the private
sector
5. To monitor, track and advice government and non-government organizations on the
implementation of projects, programmes, policies and Budgets.
6. To provide data, analysis, strategy, publications, policy briefs, peer review journals, reports
and implementation recommendations to address development challenges of government
and non-government organizations.
7. To write for funding for the implementation of projects, programmes, policies and other
activities of the institute.
