Purpose
- The Accounts Officer supports the strategic accounting objectives of the organization. This role has the objective to provide essential accounting preparation, input, control, analysis and reporting of financial accounting information utilizing available systems and procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Accounts payable: Processing purchase invoices in Sage ERP, maintaining an AP schedule and perform AP reconciliations.
- Bank reconciliations: Perform bank reconciliations for all banks by 5th of every month.
- Accounts receivables: Processing sales invoices in sage ERP, keep track of AR schedule and perform receivables reconciliations.
- Intercompany account monitoring and reconciliation
- Review and reconcile petty cash in line with the applicable policy and procedure, ensure relevant documents are in place, related payment/report is processed/prepared accurately and in timely manner, and replenishment is done in a timely manner.
- Pass journal entries, end-of-month GL reconciliation and account closing.
- Assist with monthly management accounts preparation.
- Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and monthly cashflow budget.
- Monitoring and ensuring compliance with the approved budget
- Performing weekly stock reconciliation and assisting in EOM stock count

- Planning & budgeting skills
- Analytical and Logical Reasoning.
- Financial Management & Reporting skills.
- Ability to use Sage X3 accounting software.
Qualifications/Experience
- A good first degree in Accounting/Finance from a recognized institution
- ICAG/ACCA/CIMA Part II or its equivalent
- At least 3 years of experience in a similar role
