The Urban Resilience by Building and Applying New evidence in Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (URBAN WASH) will generate evidence through applied research to promote sustainable, equitable, and climate-resilient WASH policies and programming in urban and peri-urban areas. Under URBAN WASH, Tetra Tech and the Aquaya Institute are leading applied research on pro-poor subsidy programs that are scalable, financially sustainable, and effective at reaching the most vulnerable.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Field Enumerator will be responsible for filling the household survey questionnaire with a mobile-based platform, which enables easy electronic data collection.
Specific duties of the field enumerators include:
1. Travel to urban communities as per research protocol.
2. Determine respondent eligibility and collect written informed consent.
3. Perform household survey and record data on mobile phone.
4. Participate in quality assurance procedures.
5. Conduct translation for qualitative data collection (as needed).
6. Perform other tasks related to the fieldwork that may be assigned by the Research Officer.

 

Required Skills or Experience

 

  • Fluency in at least two of the following languages: Twi, Ga, Hausa, Dagbani, Kokomba/Lekpapa.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Previous experience using a phone-based data collection platform.
  • Ability to conduct household surveys and key informant interviews.
  • Experience working on previous sanitation research will be an added advantage.
