Our client is a multinational firm that deals in automotive products and provides transport solutions to its customers.
Scope
The Workshop Service Manager will oversee the daily operations of the workshop, grow sales engage customers and employees to maximize.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and plan the daily operations of the workshop, working with and acting on deviations.
- Ensure efficient flow of authorized work in the workshop, ensuring quality and effective documentation.
- Develop, implement and monitor standards of operations and routines.
- Frequently maintain a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness within the workshop.
- Prospect for new clients and build a large customer base to increase sales and profitability.
- Coordinate the purchase and availability of spare parts and ensure service exchange and warranty parts procedures are adhered to.
- Monitor the ongoing condition of workshop tools and equipment, arranging purchase, repair and calibration.
- Manage the workshop facilities and create working time schedules for work shifts.
- Assist workshop personnel and customers regarding technical issues.
- Participate in meetings with key customers when required and follow up on service business.
- Market and communicate company’s services solutions to existing and potential customers.
- Coordinate and follow up of the Services Salesman activities if required by the reporting line
- Proactively initiate improvement activities, ensuring conditions are in place to achieve workshop goals
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering or in any related field of study.
- A minimum of 6 years’ experience 4 of which have been in a managerial role.
- Extensive experience in heavy-duty trucks and buses.
- Proven work experience in sales.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills.
- Excellent technical reporting and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
- Working knowledge in MS Office suite and other related software programs.
