Role Overview

  • We are looking for an individual with at least 8 years of work experience, with 3-5 years of work experience in management consulting.
  • The VP of sales will work directly with the CEO to lead the development and execution of the sales strategy for AFG to drive revenue growth.
  • The individual must have experience in selling business advisory services to companies and forging partnerships with organizations.
  • As VP of sales, you must have knowledge of the local and global market, client needs, and strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • This job can be based in Ghana, Nigeria or South Africa. This role requires 50% travel.

Your experience

  • You hold a degree in Business/Sales and Marketing/Economics-related field. MBA is a bonus
  • You possess at least 8 years of work experience, with 3 to 5 years in management consulting and experience in business advisory sales
  • You have experience in business development in management consulting services in Africa or other emerging markets
  • You possess knowledge of building and selling product packages as a services
  • You have strong experience in managing a team
  • You have excellent knowledge of CRM tool

Key Responsibilities

Sales Strategy

  • Work with senior management team to set the sales target for periods under review
  • Facilitate the implementation of the sales strategy as agreed with the management team and AFG board
  • Identify new sales services and opportunities for AFG

Team Management

  • Hire, build and develop sales team
  • Responsible for the daily operations and success in selling AFG’s services to clients
  • Prepare periodic sales plan, goals and develop strategies to reach target
  • Present sales performance at various meetings
  • Conduct internal training on how to be sales-driven as a company
  • Build data-driven process to approach sales and sales-related decision-making

Client Development and AFG Representation

  • Network at various levels to bring more opportunities to AFG
  • Prepare sales pitch for different AFG services to be shared with prospective clients
  • Work with senior consultants to build client relationships and follow-up opportunities for AFG
  • Travel for in-person meetings with customers and partners and to develop key relationships.
  • Strategically cultivates new relationships and seek opportunities
