An Agro-processing Company in the Adansi North District in the Ashanti Region requires the services of a resident Farm Supervisor to perform day-to-day operations on the Company’s oil palm plantation.
The Farm Supervisor should have a sound understanding of record keeping essentially. He/she should be highly motivated with good communication and planning and reporting skills, as well as adequate IT skills.
He/she is required to be flexible in terms of the total hours worked to meet the demands of the role. The candidate should be a goal getter and should be able to work under occasional strenuous conditions.
The candidate must be able to work independently with little supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning annual production targets from planting, weeding, spraying, pruning, and harvesting produce on the Plantation.
- Collection and analysis of production data to ensure the sustainability and profitability of the Plantation.
- Assist in monitoring the health of the seedlings and trees and treating them when appropriate.
- Prepare periodic progress and management reports for the Executive Management Team.
- Assist in planning and implementing measures to avoid losses.
- Keep and maintain proper farm records.
- Plan and implement general farm maintenance tasks.
Qualification/ Experience
Candidates seeking appointment to this position must possess the following:
- Must have a minimum of diploma from an agricultural college or a degree in an agriculture-related discipline.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft tools as well as adequate skills in Agric management and analysis will be an advantage.
- A minimum of 5 years in farm supervision
