We are seeking to recruit Events Coordinator to lead in the organization of our programs. This position is fast-paced and requires someone with dexterity in organizing complex activities especially events.

About the Company

Marriage Link is a new company that has been set up and officially launched to respond to pressing social and family challenges facing the Ghanaian society, in particular the institution of marriage (www.marriagelink.net).  The company has an objective of promoting social happiness and wellbeing through the institution of marriage. In this regard, the company provides a one-stop shop of marriage support. We have four distinct but inter-related packages, namely:

i. Marriage Partner Identification and Matching for people who are ready to take the long walk to marriage and need assistance to identify partners in a confidential, reliable and purpose-driven manner;

ii. Premarital Counselling for faith and non-faith based individuals to adequately prepare them before marriage. This includes legal education on the types and meaning of the various forms of marriages under the laws of Ghana;

iii. Marriage Events Organization to assist couples to have stress-free marriage events which are customized to suit their budget thus making it easy for people to marry without much financial strain; and

iv. Marriage Juice-Up service that enables already married couples who have challenges in their marriages and who require independent, private and professional counselling support.

On top of the above, the company has also set out to organize major events relating to marriages in the coming weeks and months.

About the Role

The Successful candidate will coordinate Events at the company. The incumbent will demonstrate understanding and familiarity with planning for Events including liaising with hotels, planning logistics, leading promotion of the Events and ensuring that all fine details are successfully put in place. Specifically, the incumbent will:

  • Come up with Events ideas.
  • Prepare concept Notes on how the Events will be organized.
  • Propose venues, branding and other logistics arrangements.
  • Coordinate media partnerships including seeking sponsorship for the events and ensuring wide publicity.
  • Proposing budget for the Events.
  • Identifying guest Speakers and other Resource Persons.
  • Mobilizing colleagues from within the company to deliver on the Events.

About the candidate

You must be familiar with events organization in Ghana. You must have ability to think outside the box and ensure that everything about events management from planning through implementation and monitoring are successfully executed.

Familiarity with the media landscape and how to engage media houses for publicity of events will be an advantage.

 

 

Required Skills or Experience

 

  • Ability to think out of the box and take decisions that can be justified.
  • Must have industry knowledge of Event management in Ghana.
  • At least 3 years experience in organizing Events.
  • Ability to drive will be an advantage.
  • Must possess relevant tertiary education qualification.
