Our client, a reputable Fintech company located in Accra is looking for an experienced, proactive and self- motivated individual to fill the position of Head of Business Development.

Job Summary
The Head of Business Development is responsible for driving the organization\’s business development strategies that are in line with organizational objectives, exploring new business opportunities, and improving on the current portfolio.

Duties and Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:

  • Developing business development and marketing plans in coordination with the Chief Executive Officer to ensure alignment with overall organizational strategy and to achieve revenue goals.
  • Leading business relationship building with industry players and developing strategies to leverage network for business opportunities and partnerships.
  • Developing and nurturing on-going business relationships with clients and partners to ensure long term clients relationships and partnerships to improve on ROI.
  • Demonstrating in-depth knowledge about business development practices, marketing activities, prospective clients and industry trends.
  • Developing working relationships and knowledge of regulatory agencies and regulations for Fintech companies operating in Ghana.
  • Preparing the annual marketing budget and track the expenses against the budget.
  • Analyzing current and past budgets, expenses, sales, revenues, and service deficiencies to provide recommendations for business growth and problem resolution.
  • Assisting in the company’s branding and media communication activities such as press releases, advertisements, marketing collaterals, and web site.
  • Participating in industry fora, client discussions, and conferences as a representative of the organization.
  • Performing market research to identify new opportunities and engage with executives to establish strategies for pursuing those new opportunities.
  • Leading development of business intelligence frameworks to improve data analytics, predictive modelling and market assessments.
  • Drive product research initiatives to understand future impacts on product development and product offerings.
  • Guide business development research reports on potential revenue streams and business threats.
  • Drive collaboration with internal stakeholders to develop plans for adapting existing portfolios to new business opportunities.
  • Respond to the client queries regarding the services and products in a timely fashion.
  • Explain to prospective clients about the advantages of the services offered and follow up with them to close the business deals.
  • Develop creative strategies to retain the clients including interviewing them to receive their feedback and incorporate it into the growth plan.
  • Develop strong customer relationships to generate a high volume of prospective clients.
  • Supervise the client relationship management database and utilize it to manage customer contacts and mailing lists.

 

Required Skills or Experience

 

You should have:

  • Significant knowledge and understanding of the Fintech industry’s needs and how to respond to them.
  • Significant working experience in business development, sales, marketing and customer relationship management.
  • In-depth knowledge in proposal development and report writing.
  • Relevant experience in strategy development and execution.
  • Relevant experience in delivering on targets and business objectives.
  • Proven ability to take initiatives to develop new clients and manage client’s portfolio.
  • Relevant experience in delivering projects on time and within approved budget.
  • Working knowledge of regulatory frameworks for Fintech companies operating in Ghana.
  • Minimum of 5years professional experience in related field.

Qualifications and Competencies required:

  • Must possess Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance, Sales, Marketing, Social Sciences or a related field.
  • Professional certification in any of the above disciplines is desirable.
  • Minimum of 5years professional experience in related field.
  • Must have excellent customer service and relationship management skills.
  • Must have excellent communications, presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Must have excellent planning and organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple competing priorities.
  • Must have effective people-management skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and internet use.
