Ghana Internet Service Providers Association(GISPA) is seeking for  experienced and qualified person to fill the position of Research and Media Assistant.

Job Summary

Working under the Executive Secretary, the Media and Research Assistant will be required to contribute to the research works of GISPA within the Internet ecosystem as well as contribute to managing its media relations and activities including writing news articles, briefings, blog and research pieces.

The ideal candidate shall be an individual passionate about data driven research within internet services provision, internet development and marketing in Ghana and the sub-region.

Key responsibilities
  • The Research and Media Assistant will support GISPA\’s Executive Secretary in executing the Association\’s core research and media work, contributing to all research.
  • Day-to-day tasks include undertaking desk-based research of internet related policies, programs and initiatives, conducting both qualitative and quantitative analysis, assisting GISPA\’s Executive Secretary and other senior officials in the production of research publications.
  • Support with identifying data sources for GISPA\’s research publications
  • Produce quarterly GISPA newsletter to be distributed among members and key audiences
  • Support in tracking media, reports and events or activities related to internet service provision and development in Ghana
  • Provide general assistance to the Executive Secretary, GISPA senior officers, including preparing presentations, checking documents, writing briefings

 

Required Skills or Experience

 

Minimum Qualification: The ideal candidate should have: 

  • BSc/BA in Media/Communications Studies, Marketing or Advertising or relevant subject
  • Strong skills in market research, organization, and multitasking
  • Proven interest in the internet and telecommunications sector, ideally with a focus on internet development and service provisions
  • Experience in data analysis and quantitative data work

Person specification

  • Comfortable with working with and interpreting numerical data
  • Good writing and verbal communication skills
  • Interest in using and learning data analysis tools such as Microsoft Excel etc
  • Knowledge of qualitative and/or quantitative research methods/design is a plus
  • Excellent attention to detail and proofreading skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to work to deadlines under pressure
